Airport

Cairo International Airport (CAI) is located around 24 KMs away from the venue. It would take approximately 30-60 minutes to commute between the airport and the venue depending on the traffic. For more information, please refer to the airport website.

 

Airport Transportation

Transportation within the City

Online platforms such as Uber and Careem are widely used in Cairo. You can also seek a taxi from the venue hotel concierge.

Climate

The weather in May can be quite high with temperatures going to as high as 32 Co during the day with an average of 24.5 Co. The weather at night can be pleasant. A day averages twelve hours of sunshine.

 

Currency

The official currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). The USD and the Euro are the two most widely exchanged currencies in the country. Conversion information can be found online here.

Banks are open on Sunday to Thursday, from 8.30 AM to 2.00 PM.

 

Electricity

Electricity is 220 - 240 V, 50 HZ. Widely used plug types include “Type C Europlug” and “Type F Schuko”. Please refer to the web-link here or more information on these socket types.

Credit Cards

Credit cards are widely used in Egypt, and all kinds of cards should work; i.e. Visa, MasterCard, American Express (Amex), Visa Electron, and others. Nevertheless, carrying some cash is strongly recommended as Credit Cards cannot be used at some places or might not work such as taxis, buses, and some restaurants.
